It had to happen eventually.
What’s it going to be like getting to ship actual production code with the WDK? I can’t wait to strip out all of the #ifdefs for the old kits…
Congrats to the team(s). Shipping is hard. Shipping something that big is really hard.
Hm, with Longhorn Server still a year away from release, I wonder if we’ll (Beta Testers) get access to post-WDK bits. I know that LHS is supposed to add new features to the kernel that won’t be in Vista (much like 2003 had its own DDK kit, even SP1 does), so I hope some stuff will continue to be improved. I’ve not sent all the bug reports I should’ve, waiting for final to come out and the beta to clear out a bit.
I expect we will; I posted a question, though, so I’ll let you know if I hear back.
